It's easy! Take a measuring tape and wrap it around the middle of the neck, which is where you want the dog collar to sit. For best fit we suggest giving 1-2" more to true neck sizing to allow for slight hang.

We always suggest to go up to the next available size if if your dog neck size is not available, (i.e: If it measures at a 19 inch go to a 20 inch not a 18 inch)
The only exception to the rule is if your dogs head is slim, for example a Doberman pincher Has a slimmer head so there should be limited slack.

No, we will happily do an exchange for you, but you will have to pay for shipping both ways. This is why we emphasize to measure your dog's neck and not just eyeball it.
Yes, we have a lifetime guarantee on manufacturer's defects. We've only once had the buckle break, which we were happy to replace as it's part of our manufacturer's defect guarantee. However our guarantee does not cover scratches, the chain is metal, and if you take a file or stone to it, it will scratch. We also guarantee you'll be absolutely satisfied with you order, and if you're not, we'll offer you a free refund on your return as long as the chain's packaging has not been damaged.
